アニタは両親と共に暮らしていて、兄妹はいません。彼女の両親は日々の糧を得るために苦労をしています。彼女の父も母も自給自足をする農民ですが、いくら努力をしても、自分たち家族の需要を満たすことは困難です。
アニタとその家族が住んでいる地域は、ひどくHIV/AIDSの危機にさらされています。ある地域では、働き盛りの大人たち全員がAIDSにより死亡するという、社会構造そのものに影響しています。
恐れる子供たちと疲れ果てた祖父母たちが食べ物や学校あるいは医療のためのお金をもっていることは稀なこと。このスポンサーシップを通じて、アニタとその家族が食べ物、学校、医療やその他生活必需品を手にいれることを確実にすることができます。
アニタはすくすくと健康に育っていて、お人形遊びがお気に入り。家のお手伝いもします。

“Our sister is in Tanzania !” We want the boys to think of Anitha as their “sister”, so they can learn to care for people around the world. One day they will be old enough to really appreciate the experience, but now they are too young to really understand. But they enjoy making letters for her anyway.
“Our Christmas Gift to Anitha 2009!” We can only send a 6inch by 9inch envelope so all the gifts have to be small. We want to send things that she can play with and also learn and be creative…like crayons and paper and balloons, etc. We hope she likes and enjoys what we send. This is the 5th package so far. We send something every 4-5 months. She always write a letter saying thank you.
“Christmas Card from Anitha 2009!” She drew cute little pictures of a person “Mtu”, a ball “Mpiri”, a biscuit “Biskuti, and a house “Myumba”. So cute! The letters are always in Swahili, but her family also speaks a local language.
“Christmas Letter from Anitha 2009!” Her letter was written in Swahili then translated by a project worker. She and her family said thank you for the last gift and also that the family and Anitha are doing well. She is healthy and happy in school. They are happy have enough rain to plant crops this year. Nice letter.
